Jordan Source Highlights Kingdom’s ITO/BPO Leadership

November 16, 2022 Jordan Source Highlights Kingdom’s ITO/BPO Leadership

Dead Sea, Jordan – November xx, 2022 – The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship was a prominent fixture at the 2022 MENA ICT Forum, hosting multiple booths and participating in a variety of meetings and discussions throughout the two-day event. The forum—the largest annual ICT event in the MENA region—was held at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, at the Dead Sea, on November 16 and 17.

The ministry hosted two large booths at the event; one of these was dedicated to its Jordan Source program, which works to elevate the Kingdom’s profile as a destination for IT investments and outsourcing while putting a spotlight on local ICT talents. In addition to welcoming visitors at its booth, Jordan Source also hosted an interactive panel discussion at this year’s MENA ICT Forum. Titled “How diverse perspectives work together to create a successful ITO/BPO ecosystem,” the panel brought together a variety of voices working in and around Jordan’s IT outsourcing and business process outsourcing (ITO/BPO) industry, in order to demonstrate the power of collaboration in strengthening the country’s ICT sector. In addition to engaging the panel of representatives from government, private sector, and local IT talents, the panel session also brought the audience into the discussion, through an interactive Q&A application.

On the sidelines of the event, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship signed two memoranda of understanding (MoU)—one with Zoho, a leading global technology company, and another with EndocPM, a healthcare practice management platform. Both MoUs fall under the umbrella of the Jordan Source program.

Commenting on the occasion, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, His Excellency Ahmad Hanandeh, said, “It is always a great pleasure to take part in the MENA ICT Forum, and to witness the incredible strength and potential of the Kingdom’s ICT talents. Through programs like Jordan Source, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship is actively working to further enhance the country’s ICT ecosystem—including by bringing diverse voices and perspectives into these larger conversations. This year’s event was inspiring to behold, and truly demonstrates the resilience and bright outlook of Jordan’s ICT sector.”

The ministry’s participation in the MENA ICT Forum comes on the heels of its successful participation in Web Summit 2022, held in Lisbon, Portugal earlier this month. Under the umbrella of the Jordan Source program, the ministry also recently helped host StillCon 2022, a bi-annual meeting of international gaming company Stillfront Group—held in Jordan for the first time ever.
