January 30, 2023 Global Outsourcing Company Teleperformance to Establish Operations in Jordan
Jordan Source Helps Facilitate Latest Major Investment in the Kingdom’s ITO/BPO Sector
Teleperformance will host a job fair on February 15 to begin onboarding its first wave of local talents
Amman, Jordan – January 30, 2023 – Jordan Source—a program implemented under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship—recently signed an agreement with Teleperformance, through which the global omni-channel outsourcing company will officially establish operations in Jordan. The agreement was facilitated with the support of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, in line with his vision of transforming the Kingdom into a global information and communication technology (ICT) hub.
With Teleperformance set to inaugurate its operations in Jordan in the very near future, the company is expected to contribute significantly to the local job market. In its first year alone, Teleperformance will aim to create around 250 new jobs for young ICT professionals; by its third year, it is anticipated that the company will have created roughly 2,000 direct job opportunities in the Kingdom.
To kick off its engagement of local talents, Teleperformance will host a job fair on February 15, at the King Hussein Business Park. During this event, the company aims to gain an introduction to the local workforce and immediately begin hiring a team to help launch its operations in the Kingdom.
Teleperformance’s arrival in Jordan will also significantly bolster Jordan’s attractiveness as an IT outsourcing and business process outsourcing (ITO/BPO) destination—one of the primary objectives of the Jordan Source program. In line with its directive, Jordan Source supports partners like Teleperformance in all aspects of their operations—from streamlining the process of establishing their business in the Kingdom to offering attractive grant and incentive packages, to providing logistical support in everything from local office set-up to talent acquisition and upskilling.
Speaking on this landmark partnership, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, His Excellency Ahmad Hanandeh, said, “It is an immense pleasure to be able to welcome a global outsourcing leader like Teleperformance to Jordan. Their decision to expand into the Kingdom is an incredible testament to the growing strength and reputation of the country’s ICT sector—and, of course, to the astute vision of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. We look forward to providing our continuous support to Teleperformance as they establish and develop their local operations.”
Teleperformance’s CEO for North Europe, East Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Yannis Tourcomanis, also spoke on the occasion, saying, “Our approach to growth and expansion into new markets is always driven by the prospects and potential identified in the market in question. In Jordan, Teleperformance has found a wellspring of opportunity—from its supportive business and investment ecosystem to its exceptionally talented and abundant workforce. We are eager to build on these opportunities, and we are especially grateful to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Excellency Ahmad Hanandeh, and the Jordan Source team for their continuous support.”
