February 03, 2025 Jordan Source Hosts a Webinar in Partnership with Maryland Tech Council, Highlighting Strong Jordan-US Ties
(Amman, Jordan – 03 February 2025) – Jordan Source, a program under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), has successfully hosted a webinar, titled “Collaboration Between Jordan and the United States in the Technology Sector” on Monday, 27th of January, in partnership with the Maryland Tech Council (MTC). The digital event provided global attendees with valuable insights into Jordan’s rapidly growing technology sector and explored how businesses can leverage the Kingdom’s thriving ICT ecosystem for strategic growth through IT and outsourcing.
The webinar shed a light on accessing new markets and expanding businesses through Jordan’s technology landscape. His Excellency Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, opened the session with a warm welcome note and a brief introduction about Jordan’s flourishing ICT sector, before kicking off the keynote presentations with his own address.
Dina Kawar, Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States, took the stage for the second keynote, where she focused on the immense potential that Jordan’s ICT sector holds for the future of both nations. Kelly Schulz, CEO of Maryland Tech Council, then shared rich insights on the importance of international collaboration in driving innovation.
Afterwards, attendees engaged in two panel discussions, bringing together industry leaders and notable speakers. The first panel, titled “Leveraging Global Talent to Drive Innovation,” welcomed Mohammad Kaddoura, Co-Founder and CEO of Ideal Innovation House (IIH); Majd Hemiemat, MENA Growth Director at Avertra; Mohammad Batayneh, Director of Data and Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft; and Faisal Kawar, Managing Partner at MenaDevs. The experts shared their experiences on the Kingdom’s skilled workforce and talents in driving growth.
The second panel shifted towards “Empowering Jordan’s Youth through Education,” bringing together panelists Tina Sweis, Executive Director at Amman 42, and Amira Qarqash, Digital Skills Development Manager at MoDEE. The conversation highlighted the role of education in shaping the future of Jordanian youth, particularly in the realm of technology.
