October 08, 2025 The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Holds a Virtual Seminar on Jordan’s Participation in “Expo 2025 Osaka”
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), in collaboration with the Jordanian Embassy in Japan and the Jordan Source program, organized a virtual seminar highlighting Jordan’s distinguished participation in Expo 2025 Osaka.
In his opening remarks, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Eng. Sami Smeirat, affirmed that the success of the Jordan Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, which ranked first in visitor satisfaction—surpassing major countries such as the United States and Italy— reflects Jordan’s bright image and its ability to compete globally.
He added that the Jordan Source program played a pivotal role in this achievement, serving as Jordan’s gateway to showcase its innovation to the world and as a strategic platform for promoting the country’s ICT sector, connecting Jordan’s creative youth with international markets, including Japan, and positioning Jordan as a hub for innovation, investment, and international collaboration.
The Jordanian Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Nasser Shraideh, expressed his pride in organizing this event, emphasizing that the seminar reflects the depth of Jordanian-Japanese relations and serves as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation.
He noted: “Through these joint efforts, we aim to introduce the Japanese people to Jordan’s rich history, unique tourism and economic potential—especially in the ICT sector.”
The seminar’s program included an overview of the Jordan Source initiative, which aims to enhance global outreach and promote Jordan’s ICT sector, highlight success stories of Jordanian startups and entrepreneurs, and connect them with their counterparts in international markets.
The event also featured short video presentations from BeGo Technology and Maysalward, showcasing examples of Jordanian creativity and collaboration opportunities with the Japanese market.
Interactive discussion panels followed, with participation from Microsoft, Tamatem Games, and other companies. Tamatem shared its experience in localization and entering new markets, while a Japanese resident in Jordan shared personal reflections on living in the Kingdom and the cultural exchange experience. The session also included a presentation on the Youth, Technology and Jobs Program, highlighting the incentives and partnerships it offers to attract investment and develop Jordanian talent.
The Jordan Pavilion team presented the pavilion’s architectural design and innovative cultural content, while the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) discussed future cooperation prospects between the two countries.
Expo 2025 Osaka, held under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” runs until October 13, 2025, with participation from more than 150 countries and international organizations.
The Jordan Pavilion has earned widespread recognition for its innovative design and immersive visitor experiences, which reflect the harmony between authenticity and modernity, and highlight the creativity of Jordanian youth in culture, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
