December 22, 2025 Jordan Source Advances Jordan’s Gaming and Creative Technology Agenda at The Gaming Summit 2025

Aqaba, Jordan — Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, the 13th edition of The Gaming Summit 2025, themed Play to Learn, brought together innovators, educators, creators, and global industry leaders shaping the future of gaming in the MENA region.

The summit was inaugurated in Aqaba by His Excellency Eng. Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, deputising for His Majesty. The event was organised by the Jordan Gaming Lab, one of the programs of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), and hosted the global Aqaba Connects Gamer Pocket conference in collaboration with Pocket Gamer Connects.

As part of its participation, Jordan Source, a national program of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, played a central role in engaging international gaming companies and industry leaders, particularly those visiting Jordan for the first time following Jordan Source’s recent outreach and engagements in the United Kingdom. The summit served as a continuation of conversations initiated during the UK visit, advancing discussions around market entry, partnerships, and investment opportunities within Jordan’s gaming and creative technology sectors.

During the summit, Jordan Source hosted a dedicated panel titled Wonderful MENA, highlighting Jordan’s competitive talent pool, expanding game development ecosystem, and the market opportunities available across Jordan and the wider MENA region. The panel positioned Jordan as a strategic entry point for companies seeking access to regional and global markets through a skilled and creative workforce.

On the second day of the summit, Jordan Source delivered a targeted briefing session for international participants, presenting Jordan’s technology and gaming narrative, national priorities, and the role of the Jordan Source program in supporting companies throughout their market entry and expansion journey. The session offered tailored insights into Jordan’s value proposition, ecosystem support mechanisms, and opportunities for collaboration across the gaming and creative digital industries.

The summit followed a nationwide pre-event tour across Jerash, Madaba, and Ma’an, engaging youth and aspiring creators through interactive experiences that linked art, history, entrepreneurship, and game-based learning, reflecting a commitment to inclusive ecosystem development and nationwide talent discovery.

Held over two days, the summit featured eight thematic tracks, addressing artificial intelligence in gaming, extended reality, mobile and indie game development, global publishing, and emerging technologies. It also introduced advanced workshops on game design and creative thinking for the first time, alongside hands-on sessions focused on AI tools, user experience design, storytelling, and interactive development platforms.

The Gaming Summit 2025 aimed to strengthen Jordan’s position as a regional hub for digital gaming and technological creativity, while enhancing its role as a bridge connecting regional developers with global markets. The event aligned with the Economic Modernisation Vision, supporting efforts to transform Aqaba into a leading destination for investment, tourism, and technology-driven creative industries.

Through its participation, Jordan Source reaffirmed its commitment to enabling high-growth digital sectors, supporting international partnerships, and positioning Jordan’s creative and technological capabilities on the global stage.
