December 21, 2025 Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Hosts Strategic Esports and Gaming Session with British Esports Federation President

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE) hosted a specialized session at The Arc to welcome Mr. Chester King, President of the British Esports Federation. The session was held in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Omar bin Faisal, President of the Jordan Esports and eGaming Federation, and H.E. Eng. Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.

This engagement builds on the momentum of the recent Jordan–UK Tech Connect event held in London and reflects MoDEE’s efforts to foster international partnerships that advance Jordan’s evolving esports and gaming ecosystem.

During the session, Jordan Source – the national platform for promoting Jordan as a leading hub for digital services and investment – presented an overview of national efforts to support the growth of esports and gaming. The presentation also highlighted the strategic role of The Arc, the first-of-its-kind innovation space designed to provide infrastructure, creative environments, and capacity-building programs for Jordanian youth, students, and startups. Strong plans are underway to scale this model across the Kingdom.

Representatives from the local gaming and esports ecosystem shared short interventions to highlight recent successes, emerging initiatives, and the sector's increasing competitiveness regionally and globally.

A focused dialogue with Mr. Chester King explored global esports trends, the UK’s experience in building a sustainable and competitive ecosystem, and ways to enhance knowledge exchange and sector development in Jordan.

The session also showcased digital education projects developed using Minecraft Education, delivered through the Ministry’s Youth, Technology and Jobs (YTJ) project. These projects reflect Jordan’s commitment to integrating creative technologies into learning to empower the next generation with future-ready skills.

This gathering reflects MoDEE’s commitment to positioning Jordan as a regional hub for esports and gaming while advancing innovation, youth empowerment, and digital economy growth in collaboration with international partners.
