September 20, 2026 Discover Digital Jordan 2026 Launches with International Technology and Investment Leaders
H.E Sami Smeirat: Jordan has the talent, environment and opportunities to strengthen its position as a regional hub for digital business and technology
Discover Digital Jordan 2026 kicked off in Amman on Sunday, organised by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship through the Jordan Source programme, with the participation of an international delegation of 15 CEOs, investors, business leaders and experts in technology, outsourcing, artificial intelligence, software, cyber security, semiconductors and investment, representing organisations including TEDCO, the State of Maryland’s technology development corporation; Siemens Digital Industries Software MENA; ST Engineering of Singapore; Extreme Group of Brazil; BlockAPT of the United Kingdom; QUAY Acceleration; SVH Capital; NexusIgnite; Outsource Accelerator and Q2Global.
The programme runs through 9 September, with activities in Amman and Aqaba before closing at Petra.
Jordan Source is one of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship’s key initiatives aimed at promoting Jordan as an investment destination for technology companies across global services, AI and software, semiconductors and the creative economy, highlighting the Kingdom’s competitive advantages to global companies, and connecting them with local talent, companies and investment opportunities in the sector. It provides a single point of contact from first inquiry to operational launch.
Discover Digital Jordan 2026 aims to give participants a firsthand look at Jordan’s digital economy and technology ecosystem, showcase Jordanian talent and the opportunities available for international companies to invest, expand and establish regional operations from Jordan, and build direct relationships with companies, entrepreneurs, institutions and universities operating in the sector.
Speaking at the opening forum, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship H.E. Sami Smeirat said the programme was designed to let participants see Jordan’s technology sector for themselves rather than hear about it from a stage. “We did not invite this delegation to a conference. We invited them to walk into Jordanian companies, sit with Jordanian engineers and founders, and see for themselves what operating here looks like,” he said, adding that Jordan expects the week to mark the beginning of new partnerships and investments.
Smeirat noted that technology and the digital economy receive strong support and attention at the highest levels, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and with the follow up of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, reflecting the growing importance of these sectors within Jordan’s economic priorities.
He said Jordan’s human capital is one of the Kingdom’s strongest competitive advantages, with more than 45,000 university graduates a year, 22 per cent of them specialising in ICT and up to 51 per cent of ICT graduates women, and has helped strengthen its position in outsourcing, information technology and entrepreneurship, alongside continued progress in artificial intelligence and innovation.
Smeirat added that the government continues to improve the business environment, simplify procedures, support digital and technology investments, and develop skills in line with market needs, creating an environment that enables companies to invest, grow and expand from Jordan.
The opening forum in Amman, attended by more than 100 participants from Jordan’s technology sector, featured specialised panel discussions on Jordan’s competitive advantage in talent, information technology outsourcing and global delivery, and the country’s emerging semiconductor ecosystem, alongside a fireside conversation on what investors see in Jordan, a talk on building an innovation economy by Troy Stovall, CEO of TEDCO, and an in depth presentation by int@j, the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan, on the sector’s incentives, programmes and ecosystem partners. Business leaders, investors and experts from the visiting delegation moderated and took part in the discussions.
Earlier in the day, the delegation began its programme with a field tour of Abdali in Amman, visiting Concentrix, Maysalward and BIGO in their own offices to gain a closer understanding of the operations and services delivered from Jordan and the talent supporting them.
The Discover Digital Jordan 2026 programme will continue over the coming days with a field visit to the King Hussein Business Park, home to around 300 startups, more than 30 international companies and over 10,000 jobs, and one to one meetings between delegation members and Jordanian companies, institutions and investors.
The programme will then move to Aqaba, where participants will visit the Aqaba Digital Hub and Aqaba University of Technology and explore Jordan’s digital infrastructure, international connectivity and investment opportunities, in addition to visiting a number of institutions and projects in the city.
